How to Apply for Learning Driving Licence on Sarathi Parivahan
Sarathi Parivahan is the official website for the people of India that is authorized by Govt. of India and launched by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. So, Go to the website from below and Select your State then continue.
Before apply, let me know you the all steps that you must complete to get Licence if you are a first time user.
Following are the stages in Application Submission in Issuing Learner’s Licence in the following order

Fill Application Details
As you are applying for a new Learner licence, So select “Applicant does not hold Driving/ Learner Licence” option and leave category blank if you are not;
Now press continue button and start filling the application form by selecting your state and area PIN code.
Select Class of Vehicles. E.g If you simply drive a car and bike then select
- LMV (Light Motor Vehicle) for Car
- Motor Cycle with Gear
Now continue the form by pressing “Submit” button.
Your application form will be accepted and you will get a confirmation message in your provided mobile number.
You can print the application form for your reference otherwise you can directly click on the “Next” button to proceed.
It will bring you to the fee payment page before uploading documents. So select the method which you want to use for payment of Learning Licence fee.
Select “Fee Payment” option and continue and pay the required amount
But if you want to pay later then note down your application number as provided in Acknowledgement form and follow these instructions on sarathi.parivahan.gov.in website
Open the website, Select the state then;
- Select “Application Fee” Under “EPAYMENT” Menu.
- Enter Application Number and Birth Date in the corresponding fields.
- Click on “Click Here to Calculate Fee”Button.
- Verify Your Details.
- Select Bank/Gateway from the Dropdown.
- Enter Generated code in the corresponding field .
- Click on “Pay Now” Button to continue the payment…
So, In this way you can successfully pay fees for applying licence on sarathi parivahan website.
Once you paid the fee, The next step is to “Upload the documents”.
Once you done the payment, you will be redirected to documents upload page. But if you didn’t redirected for uploading the documents then you can also do this manually.
Open the sarathi.parivahan.gov.in website and select “upload documents” option from the menu.
Now upload An Identity card such as Aadhaar or PAN card for address proof purpose
Then upload photograph and signature and click on next button
Once you have done with all the documents, you will see that all steps are marked as completed in the dashboard table.
The next step is to Book a slot, You will be given a specific date to go in the registered RTO office.
Print the Receipt
Before you book slot and get appointment date for (LL) Learner licence, You should print the registration forms and fee receipt.
Just Go to your dashboard and print all 3 forms as shown here.
Now The next step is to book the slot where your test will be conduced online on a computer that will verify that you are eligible for driving learner licence.
LL Slot Book
To book the Learning licence slot, You have to click on LL slot book option after you upload the documents and click on proceed button.
You will receive Security code on the mobile/E-mail. Verify and submit.
Now there you see your details, Click “Proceed to book” to continue.
On the next page you will see a Calendar having available date and time slot.
Green color indicates the available date for you for that month.
Now, On the right hand side select the time that you can reach to that RTO office for test and verification of documents.
Once you confirm all these things, Click on “Book slot” button.
When you finally book a slot, A confirmation message will be sent to your mobile and a document will be on your computer screen.
You have to print the document and keep it along with the previous documents that you have printed.
So, On the provided date and time, You have to arrive the office before 30 minutes because verification and other things that you have to keep in mind.
Once you pass the online test, Licence will be available to print on sarathi parivahan website.
